With injuries galore in their creaking backline, the Rossoneri are set to make a January move for the Italy national team captain… Andriy Shevchenko, Kaka, Ronaldinho – these are the three Ballon d’Or winners already at Milanello. Soon though there could be a fourth, if a report in the Corriere dello Sport can be believed.
The Rossoneri have had problems in defence all season. Star stopper Alessandro Nesta has not played this term due to injury, Paolo Maldini is 40 and needs regular rest, while the rest of the backline has largely failed to impress.
With recent signing Thiago Silva ineligible until next season, the Corriere claims that Milan are looking to bring in Italy national team captain and legend Fabio Cannavaro next month.
Cannavaro has been at Real Madrid since joining from Juventus in the aftermath of the Calciopoli crisis in 2006, but his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu runs out at the end of the season.
