The defender could be ready in time for the derby showdown later this week... Alessandro Nesta's injury torment could finally be at an end as he readies himself to take part in the Milan derby next weekend. The Italian defender has been out of action for most of the season, spending three months in Miami to cure an on going back problem. Nesta returned to Italy in January and he has been working hard to get himself back to full fitness. After a nightmare spell on the sidelines there are finally some signs of light at the end of the tunnel for the former Lazio man. Sportmediaset.it claims there is a very good chance that Nesta will be lining up against city rivals Inter when the two teams meet in what is likely to be a Scudetto showdown. The defender cannot wait to return and he will be a welcome addition for coach Carlo Ancelotti. The former Juventus tactician has had a number of injury headaches this season and Nesta’s return will add steel to his weak rearguard. The bad news, of course, is that Kaka will not play after he suffered an ankle injury during the 1-1 draw with Reggina. Salvatore Landolina, Goal.com
